The soul of the current Berlin. Hackescher Markt. 39 Rosenthaler Strasse. Haus Schwarzenberg.

There's a place in Berlin that can't be defined. In the 39 Rosenthaler Strasse, there's a discreet and disguised gate; a hole in the front of some old jew houses in Hackescher Markt. Beyond the gate, we find a magic courtyard, with thousands of Graffities, and many strange doors that guide us towards strange and secret spots.
In this gloomy courtyard there is an arts cinema, a couple of alternatives cafes, galleries, some strange shop. This place has an atmosphere of anarchy, as we were in the pre-war slums.
There also is a museum about Anna Frank.
Some people say that this place is an oasis in the middle of the gentrified heart of Berlin. Others have said that for getting a proper feeling of the soul of the current Berlin you have to go to Haus Schwarzenberg. I'd say that this uncommon point in a tech town expresses what Berlin is and what it hides inside its meaning.

To go out in the night.

.
.

(This is a practice of my english classes)
.
.
When I was in my twenties, I used to go out to discos with my friends. And I must admit that I used to go out, not because I liked it but because it was a way of living in society, a way of relating with girls, with friends, with diverse people in a more relaxed athmosphere than work's environment. Nowadays, I hardly ever go out in the night. Once or twice a year, mainly to go to the cinema, and to dinner with my wife. The reason of this austerity is that we have many difficulties to leave our son and our daughter with somebody who may look after them. But probably, if we had really wished to go out, we would have solved it.

In fact, I have always thought that there are many others activities more interesting than going out in the darkness... than going into smoky and tight and noisy locals... than losing sleep... than being enforced to wake up late, and therefore losing wonderfull sun's hours of life and pure air. I think that the night is dark because people have to be in their caves, or in their corners, or in their nests, or in their homes... perhaps writting poetry, or beside a fire with a guitar on hands, or telling stories, or counting stars below a dark and stellated sky, or in a beach under the moonlight.

Society has created an unnecessary need, that probably is hidding an ancient and deep impulse, an impulse that push us to approach to the opposite sex. Probably, this idea is tied to the social and not always written repression of the natural tendency to copulate. Our subconscious wants to copulate. Our conscious doesn't clearly dare to accept it. Then our wishes walk down the path to where the dark spaces are, to where the clandestine environments are, to where the forbidden hours of the day go by. Society sweeps the natural searching of the opposite sex towards the hidden drawer of the night. I think the social values should evolve towards an acceptance of the natural drives. Besides, when society proscribes (directly or indirectly) a natural wish, this wish search another way, and this new way is always more dangerous, always more strange, always more insane.

People are made for the day. We have evolved for millions of years sleeping in the night. And before sleeping, we have been explaining stories beside a campfire, singing and dancing with the family. And after the stories, we have always slept in the darkness to welcome a new, and bright, and long day. And this day will elapse, illuminated by the sunlight, from the sunrise to the sunset.

Our first day at the beach this year, and some thoughts about what is a person.

The first day of being at beach of every spring is the most intense day, even though the water is as cold as it had been taken out from a refrigerator.  But we had been so long without the special sensations of the nature that we feel as if we had went back to our home. This sensations born from the wet sea's breeze which is impregnated of salt. This invisible salt seems turning everything into pure. At the beach, we are filled with the colors that we have remembered for the whole winter. For the winter time, we have been watching these colors in the photos. We have been feeling the thrill of the light, a sense so deep that we can't describe it.

Saved images can't calk the natural colors of the landscape, nor simulate the fact of being inside this colors or embracing to this breeze. This breeze is like a wild sea's treacle that welcomes us. But this breeze is not a corny breeze, because you know, and this breeze knows, that if you despise the nature, you will die. If you swim offshore like a crazy drunk... if you treat the nature as if the nature had no power, then nature will destroy you. In spite this natural punishment, the nature will keep its love for you. It will kill you in spite it loves you. This story is like the plot of Ulysses and the sirens. You must learn to hear the sirens songs. You must enjoy the deep beauty that surrounds you. But you should not lose your sanity. You should not have overconfidence in nature; the beauty that has created you and that loves you as it was your mother, will kill you if you don't respect her. And this process will have been an absolutely natural process.

Some people try to defend any nonsense appealing to the natural character of any phenomenon. They use nature's name in vain. We should not use nature's name in vain because for instance whales are natural animals, and dolphins too... but if you jump into the water to swim beside those animals because you consider that those animals are natural beings and because you are a very natural person... then you will discover that It is also natural that the whale bites you... or perhaps you will discover that the whale wants to play with you, taking you by foot, and sinking you fourteen meters below into the ocean... and perhaps the whale keeps you at that depth five or six minutes. So... you should not use nature's name in vain. The nature has created the death too. The nature also extinguishes animal species and destroys individuals; all these processes are also natural.

When we see a person, our natural reaction should be to admire and respect the deep invisible beauty hidden behind the deep visible beauty that shines under the sun. A human being, more than an iceberg, hides under the clear and emerald waters of the human body, a thought infinitely more valuable and bigger. People who don't watch the hidden part of the iceberg are ignorant people that despise, and reduce, and deform... the persons. This sort of people don't treat persons in a human way.

The orchesta sounds (II)

The orchestra sounds,
the orchesta that celebrates the privilege.
A man laughs and has a clown's nose,
and children jump on sand dunes.
The waves come and go
while the sun is going down
and dyes landscape in red.
Someone is dying,
but before leaving life,
he dances with the person he love most.
They follow the melody
of a young man with dreadlocks
that plays a guitar and sings
an old John Sebastian's song:
"And then all that I know
I've learned, assuming my kid.
And all my deepest worries
must be true historical cartoons..."
And really they dance badly,
but they know that the sweetest experiences in life
are those we have not learned.
Wherever someone walks,
between the forest and the beach,
he, or she, feels a mixture of scents,
salt, pine, grass, algae ...
And when you want, you can sit or walk.
And you think that the fact that you exist
is a good experience,
in spite that tomorrow
you will have gone away.

The orchesta sounds (I)

The orchestra sounds in these brief moments of joy that someone gives us. Few moments that stretch over the years and that get the nuances of the seasons, rain, sun, winds, heavy snow of beautiful winters. The orchestra sounds inside us, everytime stronger. Sometimes it is soft like a distant background. It is the soundtrack of a privilege. The privilege of existing beside the thorns that scratch our skin and the breeze that kisses this skin. This privilege is based on the fact of being, of feeling, of being alive,  of loving, of longing, of reasoning, of creating, of building, of producing happiness every day, in every bouquet of moments that existence gives us.

The perception of privilege melts down the most powerfull chains. The most powerfull chains are the most easily fusible, and the most easily destroyable. We only need the awareness of being privileged ones. And we are privileged beings whatever happens. We are privileged because we have lived beside those who have sadly gone away. We are privileged because we have understood the meaning of having been loved and the meaning of loving. We are privileged because we have created and built. We are privileged because we have felt, because we feel, because we exist.

Why we are not a dog, or a fish, or a gorilla? Why we are not any other person? The fact of being who is each one of us determinates what we do, what we think, what we feel, what we decide... And we can't choose who is each one of us, in spite that this choice defines us. We can't decide who we are. If we were God, we would be God without our consent.

Then... take a deep breath. Something or Someone has made you. You have been made. Even that part of you that you have made with your efforts have been made by you because you are who you are, and because you have the capacity of deciding to make that. Take a breath! Relax your arms! Nobody can produce Sunrise with his effort.

Questions about existence.

La foradada, L'esquirol, Catalonia.

Can the unconscious natural laws be the cause of conscious beings?
Can the random be the cause of order of beings?
Can the natural laws of the universe and Earth produce a person without any deep junction between the natural laws and the biology and reality of persons? (sometimes I think that the Earth is an embryo)
Can the energy be caused by none previous energy?

Nudity is the antidote to avoid the sexualization and reification of the body.
