"Minyons de Terrassa" reach the Sky!!!

Never, no gang of Human Towers Builders had been able to raise the Human Castle called «4 de 10» (Ten flats high, and four persons in every flat).

This morning, the «Minyons de Terrassa», one of the best gangs of Catalonia, have achieved this victory.

Joy has exploded in the «Plaça Vella» of Terrassa. The «Old Square» of Terrassa, where this group of young and old men, and women, and children, and grandfathers, and grandmothers, of Terrassa... have reached their goal.

Day after day, this gang usually assay a series of difficult and elaborate Human Towers, a symbol of the power of a People when it works in a coordinated way.

The nature of my homeland in autumn.

I've made these  photographies some minutes ago. I have always thought that living so near of the nature is a great privilege. The landscape of my homeland is a natural museum of awesome beauty. Specially, in autumn, it is an explossion of colours and light. I don't want to write any word more. I let you to enjoy these images.

Catalonia. Human Towers.The "Minyons de Terrassa" get upload the "3 of 10" this morning.

In Catalonia, we do human towers, “castells”. The human towers are the result of the sum of many efforts. In the human towers, men and women apply efforts following an order, a plan, an strategy. Every arm is important, every leg is important. And men and women need to believe that the human tower will be lifted, that will reach its fulfillment, that the tower is rising . The members of the tower must be encouraged continuosly. They must encourage each other continuosly. The people are very important. The people who do support under the tower are essential. The tower can't ascend without the people below. When the tower is up, the most tiny child, who is in the top, raises his or her hand. At this moment, the tower is considered as uploaded. Then, the members start to download the tower. If they completely download the tower without the collapse, then the tower is considered “uploaded” and “downloaded”, this is the highest achievement. If the tower collapse during descent, then the tower is considered “upload” but not “downloaded”. If the tower collapses, nothing happens. The members of the “colla” will try again. Someday, they will get their aim. They always do. If the tower falls, everyone applauds. If the tower doesn't fall, everyone applauds too. Everyone always applauds and tries again. The human tower is the result of the work of everybody.

In Catalonia, my country, the things happen in the same way. Our survival as a nation depends on the sum of many wills, of many works, of many efforts... and the people is essential. As the human towers, we have no limits, we have no ceilings, we can grow every time more and more if we believe we can, if we sum efforts and intelligence.

The Universe agrees with a nod when a culture works to survive. He nods his head full of stars, and smiles with a nebula, and turns on the light of the suns. He stares my little country, despised for centuries.  

Why do so many people hate what is different? 

I've watched carefully some non french persons, and I have realised how many of them detest some french people only because they are french people. I've discovered them throwing an empty plastic bag on the ground of France while they say “the trash for the french people...”. Why do so many people hate the cultures that are different, the languages that are different, the differences, after all...?

Some people hate still stronger the internal differences of their states. For instance, some Spanish people say that they are against the idea of independence for Catalonia or for Euskadi... but they don't realise that they have a brisk separatist attitude when they don't accept that catalan language or euskera may be official languages in E.U. parliament or in Spanish parliament, when they deny the convenience of teaching catalan language or Euskera in all the spanish schools. They, innerly, consider that every culture different to castilian culture is not really a Spanish culture... so... they are the strongest separatists with their contempt for the catalan language or for the non castilian culture. Everybody must freely think and opine, but with respectful attitudes, and using democratic and pacific tools to decide the future of the states. Every people must decide its own future; the union that borns from a free decission is the strongest of all the possible unions. If the union is an imposition, really doesn't exist.

There is no many  sadder realities than the hate that borns from ignorance. I'm not talking about an ignorance caused by the lack of knowledges but about an  ignorance that  arises from an special sort of attitude. There are many intellectual people, with university degrees, with academic prestige, that suffers from a deep ignorance in their attitudes. They are like prehistoric men, attacking any non tribal symbol, and trying to justify the contempt for the cultures that they don't understand. They feel resentful because of their inability to understand feelings and cultures that they don't own, and this resentment angers them.

We must work for a world that may shine with the diversity of its cultures. The cultures, the languages, the identities are rights of the peoples... and anyone who hates any culture, is also hating all the cultures of the world, and after all is hating himself.

Shakira has recorded a song in Catalan, and she has been insulted for this reason. Really, People who hates a language, also hates all the languages in the world.

In Spain, international artists who decide to sing in catalan are despised by many narrow minded people. Shakira has recorded only one song in catalan in his new album, and she has received a lot of insults from many people that identify Spain only with Castilla. 

Castilla is the spanish region that for centuries has dominated Spanish state, and that many times has cut or forbidden any culture different to castilian culture. 

Catalonia, nowadays, is living a convulsed period, with attacks to its autonomy, with cuts in its decision-making in matters like education or taxes. Catalan people have chosen deputies that defend the right of Catalonia to decide its future. The big most of deputies of Catalan Parliament declared some months ago  that Catalonia is a sovereign people and that Catalonia has the right to decide its future like any other people in the world.

Yesterday, The Spanish Constitutional Tribunal, rejected the words of Catalan Parliament, and proclamed null that declaration (the declaration of the parliament of a country, the will of  a whole country) only because Parliament's words were contraries to Spanish Constitution, a law that was approved after Franco's death in a hard period of  stress and darkness. In that moment, people couldn't chose other law that Constitution, a Constitution that was write to please not only all the political parties but also the army of Franco and the ancient dictatorship's powers. 

Because to this Spanish Law, a whole country, like Catalonia, can not decide its future; perhaps this country want that its future is to be into Spain, but catalonia can not even decide this. This country suffers the despise to its language; a constant and cruel despise. Shakira begins to know it.

People who hates a language, also hates all the languages in the world. All the languages of the world reveal us an unique way of understanding the existence, a only way of watching life. Every language is a human treasure, a living treasure, the recording of all the details of the human heart. The more languages we know the more free we are. To love a language means to love all the people who speaks in that language.

So... my friends of all the world that usually read me... I need your help. 

Please... tell to your friends, to your family, to your lands...that the catalan language exists, that catalan literature exists,  that there are in Catalonia more than six milions of persons that must live as if their language was a second-class language. Tell to the people of your scope that the song of the last album of Shakira "Boig per tu" is sung in catalan language. Tell them that catalan language is the language of Catalonia, and that Catalonia  is a land that by now belong to Spanish State. Tell them that Catalonia has a Parliament, and that Parliament of Catalonia can't speak freely, and that catalan people can't decide its future because Spain doesn't want.

Catalonia is a peace's land, our only weapon is the word and the sanity, our only treasure is our culture, and our reason of being is wanting being. In Catalonia, all of you, have your home.
